Rowan
Regional Medical Center CEO Chuck Elliott decided he was tired of
the senseless aftermath the medical center's emergency department
saw as a result of car accidents involving teenagers.
“The
medical center decided to get involved with this issue after a number
of area teenagers were injured or killed in traffic accidents that
indicated reckless driving habits,” (said Phil Whitesell,
director of corporate communications at Rowan Regional.) “We
hope the program encourages teenagers to think twice before engaging
in similar behavior.”
Elliott, Whitesell and medical center staff became proactive in
establishing and funding a program to curb teenage reckless behavior.
Rowan
Regional teamed up with Miller Davis to make the 30-minute
film Burden of Choice.
The
making of Burden of Choice
“In
order for this piece to have an impact on our audience, it has to
be convincing.”
